The US Vice-President filed into his VIP box at the Kennedy Center, in Washington DC, to a raucous of jeers
As Vice-President JD Vance attempted to wind down from his busy role as number two in the White House, he attended a highbrow music event but found opposition in the auditorium beneath him.
On the evening of March 13, the 40-year-old politician arrived at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for a performance by the renowned National Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by his wife, Usha Vance.
Their arrival caused a 25-minute delay in the concert, as the Secret Service swept the area and took control of security checks. As the pre-concert announcements were made, Vance and his entourage settled into their VIP box. But as soon as members of the audience recognized the politician, boos and jeers echoed through the hall.

As boos and jeers filled the auditorium, one audience member could be heard shouting, “You ruined this place!” as others voiced their discontent.
Vance’s reaction to the savage booing was unexpectedly composed. Taking a sip of his red wine, he chatted briefly with his wife before waving at the crowd. Smiling in his seat, he seemed unfazed by the criticism, much like Taylor Swift’s cool-headed response to boos during the Super Bowl last month. While the Republican remained unruffled, the classical music setting, known for its more reserved atmosphere, made the scene all the more striking.
Once footage of the incident surfaced on Twitter, users weighed in with their opinions. “Oh ok. Wow. Kennedy Center. JD deserves worse than a few boos after the stunt he pulled in the Oval Office with Zelenskyy. I haven’t forgotten it. A most shameful day for America,” one user wrote.
Another chimed in, “Apparently he enjoys it, as most bullies would.”

A second Twitter user expressed their disgust, writing, “It’s genuinely disgusting that the Vice President of the U.S. is giddy over being booed. There was a time when politicians actually cared about public outrage when it mattered. Now? It’s a game. They have zero respect for Americans and want nothing good for the #UnitedStatesOfAmerica. They do whatever they want. We’re on a dangerous road, and they love it. #MAGA #EnablingAct #DictatorTrump.”
However, not everyone agreed with the jeering. One user defended the Vice President, writing, “What happened to patriotism? Respect for the Vice President of the United States? Common courtesy? Dems are such miserable people!! I don’t want that negativity around me.”
Another added, “Is anyone else just completely done with the nonsense and immaturity? Wouldn’t it be nice to just coexist and leave people alone? The nonsense and drama is off the charts.”
