MOST-22 Sue Radford has been left “broken” by the devastating loss of her best friend’s daughter. Sophie Walker, just 17, passed away last night after a seven-year battle with Wilms Tumor, a rare and aggressive kidney cancer.
The online tributes poured in, with Sue, the matriarch of Britain’s largest family, leading the way. Sue and Sophie’s mother, Rebecca, have been the closest of friends, sharing a bond that only deepened over the years.
In an emotional Instagram post, the 48-year-old Sue poured her heart out, describing Sophie as “a kind-hearted, funny, and brave soul.” She wrote, “Our hearts are shattered, Sophie. You were the most compassionate, funniest, and bravest girl I’ve ever had the privilege to know. We’ll miss your infectious laugh and that beautiful smile. Rest now, sweet girl, and take care of your lovely family. I will love you forever.”
Chloe, Sue’s daughter, shared her grief in a heart-wrenching message: “Absolutely heartbreaking. What a bold, remarkable girl. There are no words. My thoughts are with you all—sending so much love and strength.”
Sophie’s sister Sophia also honored her, calling her “the most beautiful and courageous girl. Our hearts are broken.”
