On Wednesday, Vice President JD Vance went on Fox News to cut through the noise, labeling it the “Schumer Shutdown.” True to form, Vance delivered a sharp, no-nonsense breakdown. He reminded Americans that Republicans had already passed a clean funding bill. Democrats chose to block it. “You don’t shut the government down because you have a policy disagreement,” Vance stressed. Essential services like military pay, food benefits, and air traffic control had already been funded. Democrats, he argued, chose to put politics above stability.
Vance also pointed out the hypocrisy. For decades, Democrats warned against shutdowns, insisting no side should “take hostages” in a standoff. Yet now, Senate Democrats have done exactly that—shutting down government over an Obamacare subsidy that doesn’t even expire until next year. “Why are you shutting down the government on October first over something that doesn’t expire for months? Negotiate, debate, do your job. Don’t sabotage the government just because you’re not getting what you want.”
But beneath all the noise lies the real motive: raw hatred of Donald Trump. The “Orange Man Bad” obsession has become the Democrats’ guiding principle, even if it means kneecapping the country to hurt his administration. Rationality isn’t exactly their strong suit these days.
When the discussion turned to taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants, Vance’s tone grew sharper still. He reminded viewers that Democrats are not being honest when they deny it. Biden-era programs funneled emergency healthcare dollars to illegal aliens and made parolees eligible for taxpayer benefits. Trump shut those loopholes down. Democrats want them back.
Why? Because illegal immigration has become part of their survival strategy. By padding blue-state census numbers with noncitizens, they cling to congressional power they can’t win honestly. Without that boost, their grip slips. And make no mistake: if Democrats ever regain unified control, it won’t just be “impeachment season”—it’ll be a political bloodbath aimed at Trump, his cabinet, his advisers, maybe even his childhood neighbors.
