Viewers have the same thought after Zelenskyy explained why he didn’t wear a suit to the White House
Donald Trump made the accusation at the same time that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was accused of “gambling with the lives of millions of people.”

Amid a heated exchange in the Oval Office on February 28, where President Donald Trump accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of “gambling with the lives of millions of people” and even sparked an early exit from the White House, one unexpected question stole the spotlight. While the world watched as the two leaders clashed over the future of Ukraine, a journalist dared to ask Zelenskyy something completely unrelated to the intense discussion at hand.
Before the tense meeting that was set to finalize a minerals agreement, the question was posed: “Why aren’t you wearing a suit?” This inquiry quickly gained attention, with many now sharing the same reaction to the seemingly out-of-place question during such a critical moment. It’s a question that has left people intrigued, especially given the gravity of the conversation unfolding between the two world leaders.

Brian Glenn, a well-known journalist and Chief White House Correspondent for the conservative news outlet Real America’s Voice, is also recognized for his favorable coverage of Trump. On February 28, during a highly charged encounter between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump in the Oval Office, Glenn, who is also the partner of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, posed an unexpected question to the Ukrainian leader.
In the midst of a tense moment, Glenn asked Zelenskyy, “In my second question for President Zelenskyy, I would like to know if you ever wear a suit and if so, why you don’t. Why don’t you dress in a suit tonight?” He added, “In spite of the fact that you hold the top position in this country’s office, you choose not to wear a suit. I’m just curious to know if you have a suit in your closet.”
Glenn then remarked, “A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the dignity of his office.”
Zelenskyy, unphased, responded with his characteristic clarity: “I will wear a suit after this war finishes.”

Just before Zelenskyy returned the clap to Glenn, he quipped, “Perhaps something similar to yours, or perhaps something even better.” He added with a wink, “We’ll see, perhaps something less expensive.”
Greene, clearly proud of her partner for bringing up the matter, chimed in, “I’m proud of Glenn for raising this issue. It seems to matter a lot.”
On social media, however, users quickly pointed out an interesting comparison, bringing up another prominent figure who doesn’t typically wear suits during his public appearances—Elon Musk.
One Twitter user on X pointed out, “This guy has the nerve to question Zelenskyy about his attire… If you want to know the same thing, maybe you should go ask Musk, you cheapskate.” The comment quickly gained traction, drawing attention to the ongoing debate about attire and public figures.

“And kudos to Zelenskyy for the answers he provided,” one commenter remarked, noting his calm and measured responses. Meanwhile, others shared images of Elon Musk sporting a T-shirt and cap while standing alongside Trump in the White House, highlighting the inconsistency in questioning Zelenskyy’s attire.
Piers Morgan also weighed in, calling the question “absurd” and pointing out that “Elon Musk does not wear a suit in the Oval Office,” which sparked further discussions online.
One user raised an intriguing point, asking, “If Zelenskyy is disrespecting America by not wearing a suit in the Oval Office, does that mean Elon Musk is also disrespecting America?” The question garnered attention, with many referring to the situation as “hypocritical.” Some even posted old photos of Winston Churchill not wearing a suit when visiting the White House, explaining that, as Zelenskyy had put it, “he was serving in the military.” The debate about attire and respect for the office has certainly become a point of contention across social media.
