The ‘Cruel Summer’ singer clearly wasn’t expecting the reception she received
Taylor Swift was left shocked after being booed by thousands of fans at the Super Bowl, and since then, her social media presence has taken a hit.
Swift, who has been attending several Kansas City Chiefs games with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, was front and center at the Super Bowl as the Chiefs took on the Philadelphia Eagles. While the Eagles secured a dominant 40-22 victory, the real spectacle happened away from the field, when cameras zoomed in on Swift and the crowd erupted in boos.
Since the incident on February 9, Swift has lost over 144,000 followers on Instagram, according to SportsMillions. While that’s a significant dip for most celebrities, it’s hardly a blip for Swift, who still boasts over 282 million followers. So, it’s likely she hasn’t given it much thought.
Neither Swift nor Kelce have publicly commented on the booing, but a source close to the athlete shared how he felt during the moment. Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source revealed: “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed, and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face really got to him.”

“He always protects her, and it broke his heart to see her like that,” the source continued. “Travis was already having a tough night, and the fact that the stadium was filled mostly with Eagles fans didn’t make things easier. He could tell it hurt her, and it was clear to anyone watching.”
“The Eagles fans clearly saw her as a ‘traitor,’ especially given her Pennsylvania roots and her past wearing Eagles gear before dating Travis. He feels that the situation was exacerbated by the comments from Donald Trump.”
Trump seemed to take pleasure in the cold reception Swift received, posting on Truth Social: “The only one who had a worse night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving.”

Other fans have shared similar thoughts, suggesting that the boos were more about Swift’s Pennsylvania roots than anything else.
One person tweeted: “Eagles fans are booing her. She’s from the Philly area but obviously rooting for Travis and the Chiefs.” Another added: “The boos are from Eagles fans—she’s supporting the opposite team, which is pretty normal in this situation.”
