The strategist is confident the Republican’s days are numbered
A Democratic Party strategist has said the Trump administration could be in its final days as he argued that Elon Musk is damaging their popularity.
Political consultant James Carville has been exuding confidence in his predictions about Donald Trump’s White House team facing imminent collapse. So confident, in fact, that he believes the Democrats simply need to “play possum” and watch the drama unfold on its own. The 80-year-old author recently predicted that the entire situation could unravel in as little as 30 days. Now, Carville has made another bold forecast—this time focusing on billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk and the apparent negative effect he’s having on Trump’s camp.
During an appearance on Chris Cuomo’s show Monday, James Carville made a bold prediction about Elon Musk’s influence, particularly in the realm of politics. Carville, speaking on Musk’s role overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), declared, “Musk will be the greatest generator of Democratic turnout ever—more than Barack Obama.” He went on to explain, “Musk will turn out more Democrats than Obama ever could, and I understand the weight of that statement, but if he keeps going, that’s exactly what will happen.”
When Cuomo asked why he believed this, Carville revealed that he had seen recent polling data suggesting this very possibility. “I’ve seen data in a critical state, and the effect of Musk is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed in polling history—nothing like it. And we’re only a month into this.”
Carville, however, refrained from delving deeper into the specifics of the data he mentioned.
This mirrors his earlier comments during an interview with Mediaite’s Dan Abrams, where he discussed Trump’s plummeting approval ratings and the advantages for Democrats. “We’re in the midst of a collapse,” Carville asserted. “This is the lowest approval—by far—that any president has ever had at a comparable time.”
He further emphasized that Democrats need only to “hold fire” for now, as in six weeks, the situation will be “easy pickings” for them.
Unsurprisingly, Trump hasn’t taken kindly to the growing scrutiny surrounding his popularity.
On his Truth Social platform, the president fired back, claiming he had the “best polling numbers” he’s ever had and labeling Carville a “loser.”
Trump continued: “The Democrats, run by broken down losers like James Carville, whose weak of mind and body, are going crazy and just don’t know what to do. They have lost their confidence and spirit – They have lost their minds!”
