Russia releases shocking statement after Trump accuses Zelenskyy of ‘gambling with WW3’
Zelenskyy was referred to as a “insolent pig” by the former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev.

Following the heated confrontation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump, several high-profile Russian figures were seen gleefully watching the fallout unfold.
On Friday, February 28, world leaders gathered in a bid to strike a deal regarding mineral resources, but talks quickly crumbled, triggering chaos in the Oval Office. In the end, Zelenskyy stormed out of the White House without signing anything, while Trump unleashed a fiery tirade, accusing the 47-year-old Ukrainian president of “gambling with World War III.”
Trump lashed out, saying, “With us, you hold the cards. But you’re betting on the lives of millions! You’re gambling with a potential third world war! What you’re doing is an insult to this nation!”
Later, the President of the United States issued a statement condemning Zelenskyy for “disrespecting the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office.”

You can imagine how the news of the fiery meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy has been music to the ears of Russia, with no hesitation in expressing their delight to the world.
Dmitry Medvedev, former President of Russia and current deputy chairman of the Security Council, wasted no time in commenting on the altercation. He posted a scathing message on social media, sharing his thoughts with the world on X: “The insolent pig was finally given a proper slap down in the Oval Office.” He went on to agree with Trump, stating that the leadership in Kyiv was indeed “gambling with World War III.”
According to Reuters, Medvedev followed up with a post on Telegram, praising the “brutal dressing down” Zelenskyy received during the Oval Office confrontation.
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also weighed in on the dispute. In a rather unexpected twist, she thanked Trump for demonstrating “restraint” by refraining from any physical violence against Zelenskyy. On Telegram, she shared, “Zelensky’s most significant lie of all his lies was his claim in the White House that the Kyiv regime in 2022 was alone and without support.”

Zakharova didn’t hold back, further accusing Zelenskyy of “biting the hand that feeds him” and marveling at the “remarkable restraint” shown by Trump and Vance in not physically reacting to him. She continued by criticizing Zelenskyy for being “unpleasant with everyone,” suggesting that his behavior was far from diplomatic.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent Russian television pundit, revealed that he is preparing a special broadcast to investigate what he called Zelenskyy’s “suicide in the White House,” adding fuel to the already tense atmosphere surrounding the confrontation.
Despite the sharp criticism from Russia, Zelenskyy has remained steadfast in his position. In an interview with Fox News following the meeting, he stated, “I’m not sure why we did something wrong,” suggesting that some of the issues discussed should remain outside the public eye. His refusal to back down indicates that the dispute is far from over.

On Sunday, March 2, Downing Street will host discussions between Keir Starmer, Zelenskyy, and other European leaders. The focus of these talks will be to find a path toward a peace agreement in Ukraine that is not only enduring but also effectively enforced.
