People left shocked after Jeff Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sanchez described their ‘pretty normal’ typical day

The multibillionaire and his wife-to-be’s ‘normal’ day left a lot of people quite surprised

How does a multibillionaire and his fiancée live their day-to-day lives?

No, this isn’t the setup for a cheesy dad joke — it’s an actual question posed to Lauren Sanchez, Jeff Bezos’ fiancée.

Now, if I had a staggering net worth of $223.5 billion like the Amazon founder, you wouldn’t catch me leaping out of bed at the crack of dawn. Instead, I’d take my sweet time waking up, perhaps lounging in a plush silk robe as I saunter through my mansion. Breakfast? Oh, I’d have one of my staff whip up something delicious while I mentally prepare for a workout in my state-of-the-art home gym — because, you know, even billionaires need to stay in shape.

While you might expect the morning routine of the ultra-wealthy to be all silk robes and breakfast prepared by private chefs, Lauren Sanchez insists that her life with Jeff Bezos is surprisingly… ordinary.

In a 2023 interview with Vogue, the author and philanthropist revealed, “Our lives are pretty normal. Daily life mostly revolves around our kids.”

Offering a glimpse into their morning ritual, Sanchez shared a simple — yet sweet — unwritten rule they follow: “Whoever gets up first, that person makes the other person coffee.”

Sounds fair, right?

Sanchez added that they consciously avoid diving into their phones first thing in the morning, admitting, “That’s what I’m working on.”

Even with billions in the bank, it seems some morning habits are refreshingly relatable.

Sanchez also revealed that family dinners are a non-negotiable tradition in their household — every night, without fail. Of course, that comes after her kids’ busy schedule of piano lessons and tutoring.

While some of Sanchez’s children still live at home, Bezos’ kids are all away at college.

The interview stirred up some backlash, with critics accusing Bezos of “cosplaying as a working-class stiff.”

On Reddit, some users pointed out that having the luxury of daily family dinners is far from typical. One frustrated commenter wrote:

“You know what got me fked up reading that article? That they have the luxury of family dinner every night together and home-cooked meals. […] A lot of families are lucky to have one day off per week all together.”**

It seems what’s “normal” for billionaires can feel worlds apart from reality for many.

While Sanchez and Bezos claim their lives are fairly ordinary, their rumored $600 million wedding suggests otherwise.

Though Bezos has denied the extravagant price tag, given his staggering net worth, it’s safe to assume the big day will be nothing short of lavish.

The Amazon founder proposed to Sanchez in May 2023 with a dazzling multi-million-dollar ring, and according to Hello!, the couple may finally say “I do” this summer.

Ordinary mornings? Maybe. But when it comes to weddings, it seems Bezos is still playing in billionaire territory.
