The heated Oval Office exchange unfolded as Ukrainian President Zelensky, in Washington DC to finalize a minerals deal aimed at securing further US military support in exchange for access to Ukraine’s natural resources, faced sharp criticism from Trump and Vice President JD Vance. They insisted that Zelensky should be “thankful” for the US’s support.

Vance took it a step further, accusing Zelensky of being disrespectful and “litigating” the situation in front of the media, according to Newsweek.

Zelensky shot back at Vance, asking, “Have you ever been to Ukraine?” to which Vance responded sharply, “You bring people on a propaganda tour. Do you think it’s respectful to come to the US Oval Office and attack the administration that’s trying to prevent the destruction of your country?”

The Vice President didn’t stop there, adding, “You went to Pennsylvania and campaigned for the opposition in October. Offer some words of appreciation for the United States of America and the president who is trying to save your country.”

Zelensky responded, “Everybody has problems, even you, but you have a nice ocean and don’t feel it now—but you will feel it in the future.”

In a tense moment, Trump interjected, “Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re trying to solve a problem. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel.”

The President continued, “You’re in no position to dictate what we’re going to feel. Right now, you’re not in a very good position. You don’t have the cards right now.”

As the exchange stirred up reactions online, Michael Caine’s tweets continued to fuel the conversation. Social media users couldn’t help but share their thoughts. One user wrote, “I love that Trump was so unhinged today that Michael Caine is tweeting this much,” while another added, “If Michael Caine takes time out of his day to comment on something, you know you’ve stepped on the wrong toes.”
