Ashley Robinson lost 26 pounds in just seven days, but still doctors didn’t take his case seriously he explained
With just months to go until his wedding, Ashley Robinson began experiencing stomach issues, but when he took those complaints to his doctor, he was dismissed.
In a stunning turn of events, the 35-year-old dropped a shocking 26 pounds in just seven days. Desperate for answers, his wife insisted that doctors take a closer look. What they discovered was devastating: stage four bowel cancer that had already spread to his liver, along with a tumor the size of an orange in his colon.

In July of last year, Robinson tied the knot with his partner, Jasmin, but the journey to the wedding was anything but smooth. As a chef working 60-hour weeks to fund their big day, the stress was mounting. But things took a frightening turn two months before the wedding when he started passing “quite a lot of blood” during his bowel movements.
“In June, it got worse, so I called my GP. They reassured me it wasn’t serious, told me not to worry, and that it would pass in a week or so,” Robinson, from Dacorum in Hertfordshire, explained.
“I told them it had been going on for a month, but they still told me to wait another week.” He brushed it off as stress-related, admitting he likely would’ve taken it more seriously if his life hadn’t been so hectic.

Robinson recalled, “It got really bad, and I passed an insane amount of blood, so I called my GP again, and this time they told me to go straight to A&E.”
“When I saw the doctor, I mentioned that my great nan had died from colon cancer, but he dismissed it, saying there was no chance because I was too young. I left with medication and took it for two weeks, but nothing changed.”
With his bachelor party approaching, he decided to push the issue aside, trusting the multiple health professionals who assured him that he “definitely didn’t have cancer.” He explained, “They kept saying, ‘You’re fine, don’t worry, go and get married,’ so I took their word for it.”
However, after the wedding, the drastic weight loss of 26 pounds in such a short time led Robinson to seek answers. “I went back to my GP, calling them three or four times, but they still wouldn’t see me. They said there was nothing wrong or that it was just piles,” Robinson shared.

“My wife went down there while I was at work. She stormed in and demanded they see me.”
“They agreed to get me in, but my GP still didn’t believe I had cancer. However, they did schedule me for a colonoscopy. That’s when they found a tumor the size of an orange in my colon.”
He continued, “I was terrified waiting for the biopsy results. When they came back, I was told I had stage 4 colon cancer that had already spread to my liver. It was the worst news imaginable.”
“It’s hard to describe how devastating it was. It absolutely crushed my wife. For her, it was the worst thing that could ever happen, and for me, it was the worst possible diagnosis I could’ve received.”
