Greenland Responds to Trump’s Land Purchase Idea with a Bold Statement

Greenland hits back at Trump’s desire to acquire the land with savage 10-word response

The ‘wonderful people’ of Greenland received a message from Donald Trump that was bewildering during his speech before the United States Congress.

Greenland has fired back at Donald Trump’s bold claim that he intends to acquire their land “one way or the other,” despite the territory previously praising its residents as “incredible.”

During his address to Congress on Tuesday (March 4), President Trump revealed that Vladimir Putin had sent “strong signals” to the United States regarding peace efforts. He also shared details of a letter he received from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy amid the ongoing conflict in Europe.

“If you choose, we welcome you into the United States of America,” Trump declared.

Emphasizing the importance of Greenland, Trump stated, “To ensure both our national and international security, we need Greenland. We are actively working with all parties involved to make this happen — it’s crucial for global stability and security.”

Despite appearing to offer “the incredible people of Greenland” the chance to “determine [their] own future,” President Trump ultimately made his intentions clear: “And I think we’re going to get it – one way or the other, we’re going to get it.”

He closed his remarks with a bold promise: “We will keep you safe. We are going to make you wealthy. And by working together, we will take Greenland to heights you’ve never imagined possible.

“It’s a very small population,” Trump added, “but a very, very large piece of land — and crucial for military security.”

In response, Greenland’s Prime Minister, Mute Egede, delivered a sharp and memorable retort: “We do not wish to be Americans. Greenland belongs to us.”

He continued, “We do not want to be Americans or Danes; we are residents of Greenland.

“It’s vital that the American people and their leaders understand this: we are not for sale. In Greenland, we decide our own future.”

Back in January, following what was described as a “fiery” call with Denmark’s Prime Minister — Greenland having been part of the Danish Kingdom since the 18th century — President Trump confidently told reporters, “I think we’re going to have it. I think we’re going to have it. I believe the people’s desire is to be with us.”

Questioning Denmark’s authority over Greenland, Trump added, “I don’t really know what claim Denmark has to it, but it would be a very unfriendly act if they didn’t allow that to happen — because it’s for the protection of the free world.”

“In my opinion, we will be able to acquire Greenland because it is tied to the freedom of the world,” President Trump stated.

“There is no connection between the United States of America and this matter — except for the fact that we are the ones capable of granting that freedom. They simply can’t,” he added.
