Elon Musk Responds to Social Media Glitches on Tesla CEO’s Platform
After reports of frequent outages on the Tesla CEO’s social media platform on March 10, Elon Musk has finally addressed the technical issues causing disruptions.

Elon Musk Addresses Massive Cyberattack on X After Platform Outages
Elon Musk has confirmed that X, his social media platform, has been facing significant disruptions due to a massive cyberattack. Responding to speculation about the cause of the platform’s issues on March 10, Musk wrote:
“There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X. We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing…”
Musk’s comments came in response to a user who suggested that the site’s issues might not be simple technical glitches, but rather the result of an orchestrated attack. The user pointed to previous protests against the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which Musk is leading, and claims that Tesla stores had also been targeted. Another user reached out to Musk, saying:
“They want to silence you and this platform,” to which Musk responded “yes.”
According to Downdetector.com, a website tracking real-time outages, 40,000 users had reported issues with X by 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The majority of the complaints (63%) came from people using the app, while 30% had problems accessing the site through its web browser.
Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but joke about the irony:
“When you think Twitter is down but you can’t go on Twitter to see if #TwitterDown is trending because Twitter is down.”

Frustration Grows as X Faces Multiple Outages
As X continues to experience glitches, users have voiced their frustration online. One user sarcastically asked:
“How many more times is X/Twitter going to go down?”
Another joked, saying:
“Twitter went down for 2 hours and I started going through withdrawal… maybe it’s time for me to touch some grass.”
One more user added:
“Why does Twitter keep going DOWN?!?!?! Fix it! (And it’s not just me. I’m texting with Twitter pals clear across the country).”
Musk purchased Twitter in October 2022 for $44 billion, later rebranding it as X. However, the platform’s struggles have raised questions about its future. In December, Axios reported that Fidelity, an investment firm, estimated the site’s value had plummeted by 72%, dropping to around $12.3 billion—a loss of roughly $32 billion from Musk’s original purchase price.
