Charlie Sheen Reflects on His Initial Reaction to Daughter Sami Joining OnlyFans
Charlie Sheen has opened up about his first reaction to his daughter Sami Sheen joining OnlyFans, admitting it was an “instinctive” response. The 59-year-old actor says he braced for the worst when he found out about his second-oldest daughter’s decision to join the platform in 2022.
But Charlie wasn’t alone in his concerns. Sami’s mother, Denise Richards, also had reservations about the move. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star advised her then-19-year-old daughter to “think twice,” cautioning that there was a “certain perception” that came with the decision.
Despite her initial hesitations, Denise ultimately stood by Sami. In a surprising twist, the actress even joined OnlyFans herself, defending Sami’s choice and showing her support by posting content on the platform as well.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Denise Richards addressed the backlash she received following her daughter Sami Sheen‘s decision to join OnlyFans. She shared:
“Lots of negative comments on my social this past week. I have to say, I wish I had the confidence my 18-year-old daughter has. I also can’t be judgmental of her choices. I did Wild Things & Playboy, quite frankly, her father shouldn’t be either.”
She went on to praise Sami for her resilience, saying, “And to be able to ignore the negativity at her age? It took me many years & I still sometimes struggle. I’m in awe of her ability to be able to shut out the noise. Because it can destroy you.”
As for Charlie Sheen, he previously reflected on his initial reaction to Sami joining the subscription-based platform in an interview with Bustle. The Two and a Half Men star admitted to having a “knee-jerk” response, fearing the worst based on the platform’s reputation.
“I had a knee-jerk reaction to it because of the reputation that preceded it. I was just like, ‘Oh, this can only go bad,’” he confessed. However, he acknowledged that his reaction was unlike his usual approach to new ventures. He added, “I think when your child is involved, it presents a whole different alternative set of circumstances.”
In a conversation with US Weekly, Charlie Sheen seemed to take a subtle jab at his ex-wife Denise Richards, with whom he parted ways in 2006. Reflecting on Sami Sheen‘s decision to join OnlyFans, he pointed out that his daughter did not start her career on the platform “under his roof,” hinting that she was living with her mother at the time. He added, “I do not condone this, but since I’m unable to prevent it, I urged her to keep it classy, creative, and not sacrifice her integrity.”
Despite his initial reservations, Sheen came to accept his daughter’s decision, recognizing that her success was enhanced by the support she received from both of her parents. “She’s doing this, and it can only be a much more successful and pleasant experience with the support of myself, her mom, and others,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of trust, saying, “I have to have confidence and just know in my heart that all of her virtues and all the wonderfulness that makes her, her, come with her.”
Although both Richards and Sami actively post on OnlyFans, there’s one rule they both adhere to: they avoid visiting each other’s pages.
