Caitlyn Jenner issues surprising statement after Trump signs executive order affecting trans athletes
There are some of the former Olympian’s X followers who are feeling ‘confused’ thanks to her.

Caitlyn Jenner has spoken out following the latest controversial executive order signed by former President Donald Trump, which directly affects transgender athletes competing in women’s sports.
Earlier this week, at 78 years old, Trump signed the legislation while vocalizing his strong opposition to the participation of transgender athletes in female sports teams. He also revealed plans to cut federal funding from institutions that allow such competitions. “We will defend the proud tradition of female athletes,” Trump declared from the White House on February 5th. “From this point on, only biological females will be allowed to compete in women’s sports. The battle to preserve women’s athletics has been won.”
Trump emphasized that this policy would be part of a broader “sweeping effort to reclaim our culture and laws,” asserting that the Education Department would inform schools that allowing transgender athletes to compete would violate federal law, specifically Title IX, which prohibits gender-based discrimination in educational settings, including sports.
In line with his new directive, President Trump has announced that any school receiving taxpayer funding will be investigated if they permit “men to take over women’s sports teams or invade your locker rooms.” He firmly stated, “There will be no such funding from the federal government.” With these bold words, it is clear that Trump views this as a decisive move to put an end to what he calls the assault on female athletes, reinforcing his stance against the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Caitlyn Jenner, the former Olympian who publicly came out as a transgender woman in 2015, expressed her strong support for President Trump’s recent executive order. Her statement, which has caught the attention of millions online, read, “Another victory in the fight for protecting women’s sports!” Jenner continued, “President Trump signs an Executive Order keeping biological men out of women’s sports!”
She further emphasized her stance, saying, “As an Olympian, I will continue to fight this issue, lobbying sports governing bodies all over the world to follow our lead!”
In an interview with USA Today, Jenner admitted that she has faced “more flak for being a conservative Republican than I have for being trans.” Despite being one of the most notable LGBTQ+ athletes—having won an Olympic gold medal in the decathlon—Jenner’s recent comments have stirred confusion among her followers, many of whom struggle to reconcile her conservative views with her identity.

The reactions to Caitlyn Jenner’s recent statements have been intense, with many expressing confusion and concern. “You are so confusing,” one person commented, while another urged her to take action, saying, “The world needs you to fight this issue because what is happening is damaging.” A third individual posed a challenging question: “Legitimate question – as a trans woman, are you cool with them just slowly erasing trans people, their rights, and everything they’ve worked towards?”
The comment continued: “We are not even talking about this executive order in particular; we are talking about all of the other orders. Sincerely, I would be very interested in hearing your comments.”
Previously, Jenner had shared a message on Instagram to her 15.4 million followers, expressing optimism in the wake of Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris in the election. “Hope is back in America,” she wrote, alongside a photo of herself with Trump, his granddaughter Kai Madison, and Elon Musk. In the caption, Jenner remarked, “These two men will single-handedly save western civilization and that begins with a strong United States of America.”

Caitlyn Jenner, the reality star and former Olympic gold medalist, continued her support for Trump’s policies, saying, “I am here and at your service, and I will be eternally indebted to you for the sacrifice you made for this country.” She concluded with a rallying cry: “Let’s Make America Great Again!”
However, as reported by Reuters, it is possible that President Trump’s proposed ban could face significant challenges in its implementation. Among the concerns is the possibility of invasive measures such as scrutinizing the bodies of children, which many would find uncomfortable, as well as potentially using birth certificates, which could be altered, to determine eligibility.
In response, Chris Mosier, a transgender athlete, weighed in, stating, “Anti-trans school sports bans are difficult to enforce because they rely on sex testing and body policing for implementation and enforcement.” This highlights the complexities and potential ethical issues surrounding such policies.

Chris Mosier’s statement touches on a significant concern regarding the potential impact of policies that scrutinize athletes’ bodies. He highlighted that increased body scrutiny doesn’t just affect transgender athletes but also harms women and girls who are perceived as “more masculine.” This includes those who are queer, intersex, or do not conform to traditional, narrow, white-centric standards of femininity. Mosier’s point underscores how such measures could disproportionately affect a broader group of women, potentially leading to discrimination and marginalization. The wider implications of this approach bring attention to the need for policies that are fair, inclusive, and respectful of all athletes, regardless of gender identity or expression.
