Michael Bublé is renowned for his soulful voice and timeless love songs, but recently, the Grammy-winning singer found himself caught in an unexpected and deeply moving moment—one far removed from the spotlight of sold-out arenas and thunderous applause.
This time, the heartfelt surprise came not from the stage, but from his 11-year-old son, Noah, whose gesture left Bublé visibly emotional.
Back in 2016, Michael’s world was shattered when his son Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer at just three years old. Together with his wife, Luisana Lopilato, the couple has four children—Cielo, 2, Vida, 6, Elias, 9, and their brave older brother, Noah, 11. In the wake of his son’s diagnosis, Bublé and Lopilato made the difficult decision to put their careers on hold, focusing all their energy on helping Noah through his battle.
“Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well,” Bublé said in a statement.
In a later interview, the “Haven’t Met You Yet” singer opened up about the overwhelming moment when they first heard the news.
“It’s the worst thing you could hear as a parent, and honestly, as a human being,” he admitted, according to People. “I would’ve rather it have been me. Many times, I wished it had been.”
After 18 months of grueling treatment, Noah was thankfully declared in remission.
“I don’t wish that kind of pain on anyone, but I do feel that when you’ve truly suffered and felt fear and loss, it lets you live a deeper life,” the proud dad reflected, emphasizing his commitment to being an ever-present father. Fast forward to today, and Noah, now 11, is not only healthy but thriving—showing signs of following in his father’s musical footsteps.
A Heartwarming Surprise
In July 2022, Bublé shared a touching clip on social media showing Noah playing his 2022 song, “I’ll Never Not Love You,” on the piano. While Bublé was away on tour, he had no idea that Noah had been secretly practicing the song in an effort to surprise his dad upon his return. The young pianist had worked tirelessly, determined to impress Bublé with his newfound skill.
“More talent in his little fingers than I have in my whole body!!” Bublé wrote, visibly choked up as he watched his son perform. As the first notes of the song filled the room, Bublé’s eyes widened in disbelief. With his son playing the piano, Bublé joined in singing, confessing that he was “getting choked up.”
Sharing his reaction with fans, the “It’s a Beautiful Day” singer proudly wrote, “Noah surprised me after I was away on tour. He worked so hard to learn this song. So proud of my guy.”
A Special Announcement
In the official video for “I’ll Never Not Love You,” Bublé and Lopilato recreated some of the most iconic romantic movie moments from films like The Notebook, Love Actually, and Titanic. The emotional clip culminates in a scene where Bublé’s wife, Luisana, reveals her baby bump—an unexpected announcement that they are expecting their fourth child.
