Pope Leo’s brother shared post calling Nancy Pelosi a drunk “c***”

Brother of New Pope Sparks Controversy with Vulgar Pro-Trump Post Targeting Pelosi

The brother of newly-elected Pope Leo XIV has stirred controversy after sharing a crude, pro-Trump message online that attacked Rep. Nancy Pelosi with offensive language, according to a report cited by the New York Post.

Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Prevost, was elected as the 267th Pope last Thursday on the fourth ballot, following the passing of Pope Francis three weeks prior. His appointment marks a historic moment, as he becomes the first American to ascend to the papacy. During his first Sunday address, Pope Leo issued a heartfelt call for global peace and an end to warfare.

Meanwhile, his older brother, 73-year-old Louis Prevost, has attracted attention for his unapologetically political and inflammatory online activity. Described as a passionate supporter of former President Donald Trump, Louis has posted multiple messages praising the MAGA movement and criticizing Democrats.

One particularly offensive post resurfaced from his feed featured a video of Nancy Pelosi speaking in 1996, alongside a profane caption that insulted the former House Speaker and mocked her political stance on trade. The language used in the post was described as vulgar and derogatory, igniting backlash and raising questions about the Pope’s family ties amid his new role as a global religious leader.

Pope Leo XIV’s Brother Sparks Outrage with Extreme Political Posts as Spotlight Falls on Pontiff’s Family

As Pope Leo XIV begins his historic papacy as the first American pontiff, his older brother is drawing headlines of his own — for all the wrong reasons.

Louis Prevost, 73, the outspoken brother of the newly-elected pope, has posted a string of inflammatory pro-Trump and anti-Democrat messages online. Among the most provocative: a post labeling Rep. Nancy Pelosi a “drunk c—” and mocking her stance on trade with a decades-old video clip. The post, shared widely and condemned for its vulgarity, reflects Louis’s staunch MAGA loyalty and deep disdain for Democratic leadership.

Other controversial content tied to Louis includes a claim that Democratic lawmakers who met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should be arrested for treason, as well as a meme depicting a mental institution with the caption: “Where the woke lived before the ‘70s.”

While Pope Leo has so far steered clear of engaging in his brother’s politics, he did retweet a post earlier this year that criticized Vice President JD Vance — a rare instance of political expression from the new head of the Catholic Church.

The Prevost brothers — Robert (now Pope Leo), John, and Louis — grew up in the working-class suburb of Dolton, Illinois. Louis’s reaction to his brother’s election captured the surreal nature of the moment: “Jeez, it was like just yesterday I was throwing him down the stairs. And now he’s pope!” he told The New York Times.

As the Vatican ushers in a new era under Pope Leo XIV, questions about how the pontiff will handle the spotlight now shining on his politically charged family are just beginning to surface.

“I think he’ll share similarities with Pope Francis, but probably won’t push the boundaries of church tradition quite as much,” Louis remarked. “He seems a bit more conservative at heart.”

Speaking to CBS News, Louis recalled the exact moment he realized what was happening. “The second they said ‘Ro—’, my mind exploded. I just knew it was going to be Roberto. And then—boom—Roberto Francisco. I completely lost it.”

He added, “My little brother just became pope. I couldn’t believe it. I was like, ‘What now? Do I have to start living differently? I’d better start behaving!’”
