FBI Ordered Release of MS-13 Gang Member Suspected of Human Trafficking, Despite Alarming Evidence
In a stunning revelation, sources tell Fox News that the FBI directed Tennessee police to release Kilmar Abrego Garcia—an MS-13 gang member recently deported by the Trump administration—even though he was under suspicion for human trafficking and smuggling illegal immigrants at the time of his arrest.
During a Thursday segment on Jesse Watters Primetime, viewers saw exclusive bodycam footage of the traffic stop involving Abrego Garcia, who was pulled over while driving a vehicle packed with eight passengers—none of whom had luggage or belongings. Watters stated his show was the first to broadcast the footage.
“He was a suspect in a human trafficking operation going back three years,” Watters said. “Fox Digital just got the bodycam footage. You’re seeing it here first.”
Suspicious Story, Packed Car, No Luggage
The footage captures the tense exchange between officers and Abrego Garcia:
OFFICER: You have a bunch of people here, don’t you?
ABREGO GARCIA: Yes, go back to work.
OFFICER: Where are you working?
ABREGO GARCIA: Missouri.
OFFICER: Where do you live?
ABREGO GARCIA: Maryland.
OFFICER: Whose vehicle is this?
ABREGO GARCIA: My boss.
OFFICER: Where does your boss live?
ABREGO GARCIA: He’s in Maryland, but lives in Texas.
Officers immediately grew suspicious. As one officer noted off-camera, “You know what you’ve got here, right? He’s holding these people for money. A mass hauler.” Another added, “He’s got $1,400 in cash, no one has luggage, and I guarantee you if you check their pockets, they’ll have toothbrushes. That’s it.”
Then the Bombshell: The FBI Said Let Him Go
The bodycam footage reportedly cuts out for over ten minutes. According to sources, that’s when one officer made a phone call—to Joe Biden’s FBI. The agency advised police not to detain Abrego Garcia.
Watters added that Tennessee police also reached out to ICE, but federal immigration agents never showed up. “Biden’s guys let an MS-13 gangster, a suspected smuggler, and a wife-beater walk free,” Watters said. “Who knows what he got away with before Trump deported him.”
Democrats Rally Behind Garcia as Political Firestorm Builds
Despite the troubling allegations, Democrats have seized on Abrego Garcia’s case as a cudgel against Trump. They cite a U.S. Supreme Court order requiring the administration to “facilitate” Garcia’s return from El Salvador—a term vague enough to leave the White House room to maneuver. So far, negotiations with El Salvador have stalled.
As Garcia’s criminal past continues to emerge—and with his undocumented status not in dispute—Democratic leadership is scrambling to contain the fallout. Party officials have quietly begun urging members to avoid traveling to El Salvador, fearing further political damage.
When asked on Monday whether Democrats should continue those trips, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries deflected, criticizing Trump’s approval ratings instead. Behind the scenes, however, aides say he’s telling members to hit pause.
“They want to let the El Salvador stuff slow down,” one senior staffer told The Bulwark.
