Kansas City is mourning the devastating loss of Firefighter Paramedic Graham Hoffman, who tragically lost his life after being stabbed while responding to a routine medical call on April 27, 2025. The 29-year-old hero was transporting a patient to the hospital when the attack occurred. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, he succumbed to his injuries at North Kansas City Hospital. Hoffman, a dedicated member of the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) since 2022, was deeply admired for his unwavering commitment to the community and his selfless service. In the wake of this heartbreaking tragedy, Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed his sorrow, stating, “I am heartbroken. Kansas City has lost a true public servant. We will pursue justice and stand with his loved ones during this time.”

The suspect, Shanetta Bossell, is currently in custody and faces charges of first-degree murder and assaulting an officer.
