Amy Schumer Says John Cena Was ‘Actually Inside Her’ During X-Rated Scene

In the 2015 film Trainwreck, John Cena played the role of Steven, starring alongside Amy Schumer. However, Schumer later shared that she viewed their on-screen sexual encounter, where she humorously remarked that Cena was “inside her,” as one of her “major regrets.”
John Cena admitted that he never gave his fiancée a heads-up about the comedic, yet undeniably awkward, hot moment in Trainwreck. Describing it as “pretty awkward,” Cena shared that his co-star Amy Schumer, on the other hand, was “very into it.” In the movie, Schumer plays a commitment-phobic character who doubts her ability to handle monogamy.
Schumer’s character, a gym-loving woman named Amy, finds herself with Steven, a fitness-obsessed guy (played by Cena). The pair has a playful exchange as Steven promises to “fill you with protein” and “put my green drink in you,” but before that happens, they share a steamy moment.
While on an Australian talk show, Schumer was asked how she kept her composure during the scene, considering Cena’s modesty was only “marginally preserved.” She responded with a witty remark: “He was literally inside of me. Who am I to put a delay on him?” She also cheekily added in press interviews post-release, “That butt is an entire world… Indeed, it’s not even human.”
Schumer humorously described the experience, saying, “It just felt like a refrigerator was sitting on top of me.” In an MTV Australia interview, she admitted, “I believe it was probably greater for him.” In her own words, she added, “I just did what I go through every time I have sexual encounters—just lay there for a moment.”
Reflecting on the moment, Schumer expressed a bit of regret, joking, “I didn’t get to feel his balls,” adding, “It’s a major regret of mine, major regret.”
John Cena, meanwhile, opened up about the awkwardness of filming the scene during a visit to the Club Shay Shay podcast. He candidly explained, “This is the thing — right now, you guys at home think it’s just us.” But he clarified that there were plenty of people behind the scenes, saying, “No, there’s a whole f**king world back here.” He went on to emphasize, “There are a great number of people that you need to make a movie. It doesn’t include any kind of personal exchange. None of it.”
Filming a humorous sex scene can be incredibly awkward, especially when you’re making fun of yourself. For Schumer, it was even more uncomfortable, as she later joked about it on Instagram, saying, “John, how dare you?”
In the post, she humorously expressed her discomfort, saying, “That sex scene meant a lot to me, and I was, like, very into it.” She even added a playful touch, revealing, “I am completely smitten with you,” as she conveyed her mock heartbreak over the scene.
