After months of promising the public that the JFK files would be released, the Trump administration have angered many with what they have
The wait is over. After more than 60 years, the classified files on the assassination of former 35th President John F. Kennedy have been released.
At just 43 years old, John F. Kennedy’s life was tragically cut short when he was shot and killed while riding in a motorcade through Dallas, Texas. The assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, fired from a sixth-floor window of the Texas School Book Depository, striking the president at 12:30 PM on November 22, 1963—a moment that would forever change American history.

Seated in the back of an armored Lincoln convertible limousine, President John F. Kennedy was accompanied by his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy, along with Texas Governor John Connally and his wife, Nellie Connally, when tragedy struck. In an instant, he became the fourth U.S. president to be assassinated, cementing his place at the center of one of history’s most enduring mysteries and countless conspiracy theories.
Now, after President Donald Trump signed an executive order just five days into office (January 25) to declassify long-hidden files, the public finally has access to the full scope of government records surrounding one of the most shocking and debated events in modern history.

On March 18, President Donald Trump, now 78, released 80,000 pages of documents, finally ending a 22,397-day wait for the public to see the police files surrounding JFK’s assassination. However, despite his administration’s earlier promise that the files would be unredacted, much of what was released was heavily censored.
Many of the documents were poorly scanned or faded, rendering them nearly illegible, while others featured handwritten notes that were hard to decipher.
But perhaps the most striking takeaway is that the majority of the information released was already widely known, as it had been made public two years earlier by the Biden administration. For many, the documents felt like a recycled release, offering little new insight into one of the most discussed events in American history.

On Twitter, reactions poured in, with one user writing: “Just ran the JFK files through ChatGPT. It’s the same stuff Biden released. MAGAs got played again.”
Another user chimed in: “The JFK Files contain REDACTED versions of files that have already been released un-redacted. Just like with the Epstein files. We’ve been played.”
A third user simply reacted: “WOW! Did Trump really just release all of the same JFK files that Biden released in 2023?”

One user added: “The only difference? The top of Biden’s says ‘2023 Release’ and Trump’s says ‘2025 Release,’ with the word ‘secret’ crossed out in Trump’s version.”
They continued, “I haven’t gone through every file, but at least a huge portion of these are the same files that Biden released.”
They weren’t alone in their observations. Another user joked: “Trump released the same JFK files that Biden released in 2023 lol. > Fell for it again award.”
