The US President has warned the Houthis they will see a response like ‘nothing’ they have ‘ever seen before’
Donald Trump has launched ‘decisive and powerful military action against’ Houthi rebels in Yemen.
On March 15, the 47th President of the United States took to Truth Social to deliver a fierce condemnation of the Houthi rebels in Yemen, labeling them ‘terrorists’ and accusing them of launching a relentless campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American and other ships, aircraft, and drones in the Red Sea. The Houthis, an Iran-backed armed political and religious faction that emerged in the 1990s, represent the Zaidis, Yemen’s Shia Muslim minority.
Trump blasted the response from his successor, President Joe Biden, calling it ‘weak’ and claiming it allowed the Houthis to continue their attacks unchecked. He pointed out that it has now been over a year since a U.S.-flagged commercial ship safely traversed the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, or the Gulf of Aden.
“The last American warship to pass through the Red Sea was attacked by the Houthis over a dozen times just four months ago,” Trump continued in his post. “Funded by Iran, these Houthi thugs have fired missiles at U.S. aircraft and targeted our troops and allies. These relentless assaults have cost the U.S. and global economies billions of dollars, while putting countless innocent lives at risk.”
Trump vowed that such attacks on American vessels would not be tolerated and promised a robust military response. He declared that the U.S. would use “overwhelming lethal force” to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets and restore freedom of navigation. His direct message to the Houthi rebels? A chilling four-word warning: “HELL WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU.”

In a bold and fiery statement, the 47th President of the United States warned the Houthi rebels that their time was running out, stating, “YOUR TIME IS UP, AND YOUR ATTACKS MUST STOP, STARTING TODAY. IF THEY DON’T, HELL WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU LIKE NOTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE!”
Trump continued to emphasize the gravity of the situation, accusing the Houthis of choking off shipping in one of the world’s most crucial waterways, halting global commerce, and attacking the fundamental principle of freedom of navigation, which international trade depends on. He made it clear that no terrorist force would be allowed to obstruct American and global naval vessels from safely navigating the seas.
Turning his focus to Iran, Trump demanded an immediate end to their support for the Houthis. “To Iran: Support for the Houthi terrorists must end IMMEDIATELY!” he declared. “Do NOT threaten the American People, their President, who has received one of the largest mandates in Presidential History, or Worldwide shipping lanes. If you do, BEWARE, because America will hold you fully accountable, and we won’t be nice about it!”
The violent strikes launched by the U.S. in retaliation have resulted in at least 31 deaths and 101 injuries, according to the Houthi-run health ministry, as reported by the BBC.
